This collection consists chiefly of letters from Cornelia Lee, later Mrs. John Hopkins, to Elizabeth Collins Lee, wife of Richard Bland Lee of Sully, Fairfax County, Virginia concerning social and family events in Fairfax County, Va., Alexandria and Washington. Included are letters of Cornelia Lee, 14 March 1802, discussing a recent visit to Mount Vernon and Martha Custis Washington's health and interests, and 4 December 1807, mentioning the birth of Mary Ann Randolph Custis. Other correspondents include: Molly Fitzhugh; Portia Lee Hodgson, Cornelia Lee's sister; Ann Lee Jones, Barbary Lee; Henry Lee; M.F.
